There’s a job advertised in tonight’s Lancashire Telegraph which sounds like it is basically doing what I was researching in my dissertation at Building Bridges in Burnley which is where I interviewed the main person there and they gave me loads of useful info and were generally really lovely. The thing is, I don’t know whether I want to do interfaith work. Which is kind of silly when I did my dissertation on that general area, but with interfaith things there is almost a presumption or expectation that you will have a faith, and I don’t. Well, not really. I wouldn’t describe myself as religious. I like to be one of those annoying people on data protection forms who ticks other and writes in ‘Agnostic’, because I genuinely don’t know. Part of me thinks that it would be nice to have a continuation of this life in the next, but then the way we are conditioned to think is that you can’t have a ‘Heaven’ without a ‘Hell’, and I believe in equality over everything, so I just don’t want to think that you are condemning a whole group of people to eternal damnation for being different. Plus if you think about it, and one religion is the right one, chances are most people are going there.
This was supposed to be a post about careers, sorry for the random religious outburts. I just kinda feel that I should do something vaguely ‘religiousy’ seeing as I’ve studied it for so long, and it does interest me. Dunno, just having a bit of a crisis.
In the meantime, if anyone would like to offer me a job that isn’t Next, please let me know :)
